I would like to enter a raw BP/DL powerlifting meet. I am a competive bodybuilder and enjoy training very heavy. I am not doing any shows this year so I am thinking about maybe a PL meet. My question is how do you train with bands and chains? Do you use them on your heavy days or on your speed days? thankyou in advance.

Depends, bands/chains/boards/pins etc are used when needed to work a certain lacking area to make an overall improvement.. What style training do you do? What are you goals? If you're lifting for size, then you're not lifting properly to powerlift...

People use them on both days. I would search elitefts.com, westside , fortifiediron.com forum, etc to get a basic understanding. Pretty complicated question really with bar weight/band tension etc.

They are used more with guys who want to address a weak point and even more with guys who wear gear. Since the gear offers assistance at the bottom, one would work on overloading top end.
