I have a show coming up in about 4 weeks, and I need a little more help cutting up. I lost like 15 lbs in the past 3 1/2 weeks by cutting carbs way down and taking lipo 6 as well as cardio twice a day. Here's my diet. I need to loose about another 6-8 lbs.

Meal 1-6:00 am- 6 egg whites- 1/2 cup of cereal
Meal 2-9:00 am- Shake- 55 g. of protien
Meal 3-1200 pm- 2 cans of tuna- 1/2 cup of green beans
Meal 4-3:oo pm- Shak- 55 g. of protien
Meal 5-600 pm- 12 ounces of grilled chicken

THanks

Wes

id probably add some protein later on in the night. Also taking 15-20g of BCAA a day wouldnt be a bad idea for you. That diet is just begging to send you catabolic but it must be done unfortunately.

you could add more fiber in there to increase the regularity of bowel movements

agree with wedgy

also, agree about the protein later at night. hit up some protein at 8 or so, maybe 20 g, then another 20 before bed (cassein)

cut the cereal out and add a slower burning carb in there like oatmeal or an apple. you want to eat only slow burning carbs if you can help it and try to take in some more protien wether it be more shakes or fish or just food in general. a food will last longer than any shake btw so remember that for a late night protien.

kindof weird that you used oatmeal and apple in the same group as far as carbs. They are total opposites. Apple is high GI, oatmeal is low GI. One good thing about apples is that people say they are negative caloric - so you can eat it and actually burn cals. To be safe i cut all fruit out of my cutting diet.

I'm thinking he meant oatmeal when he said cereal which is why i asked

also Micellar casein will last longer than most foods for night-time

Thanks guys. This sounds like what I need. What kind of protien do you reccomend, cause all I've ever used is whey?

VPX micellean is a good nighttime protein. I prefer graham Cracker

If you're using it during the day Dorian Yates Propeptide is a good choice in vanilla

basically just look for a blend of proteins with cassein being the first, milk protein isolate, casseinate are all slow digesting, but cassein is the highest quality. who knows how much that matters in reality, but in the end its up to you.

wedgy gave you some good quality ones to look into

definitely keep the whey after you work out, but during the day and night time, take something as slow digesting as possible

I'd be more than happy to show you guys. I love the way that my body is turning out. Unlike most young guys, I'm not under -developed or skinny. I think that powerlifting helped my body a lot. The only thing I have left, is to cut up my abs some more. Any advice?

Thanks,

Wes

well, your diet looks pretty much spot on, so you should be good in that department

just do weighted exercises for your abs....like other muscles. you could hit them 2 a week

Oh snap... I've made a huge mistake. I have a show this saturday. What do I need to eat? Do I need to cut out carbs completely until contest day?

i've never entered a contest, but i have plenty of cutting experience with wrestling. depending on how low your BF % is, cutting the carbs will help. However, i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, cutting the water will really help to get you ripped as well. For me that's always what it took to shed those last 1-2 lbs. Again, this is from a wrestler standpoint so a contest cut could be a bit different, and i don't want you to lose muscle, so hopefully someone else will help here too.

Am I supposed to totally cut out carbs altogether? Or just after a certain time?

I'd say most definitely no carbs after 5 pm, but before that i'm not really sure.

Well wes,

unfortunately while on the wards, my posting tallies suffer - yet I may have had some quality advice to offer you as I have been in your position before. I am hoping it went well for you.

In the correctly run "week-of" contest diet, you will need obvious carb-depletion which many people mess up terribly and is one reason you perhaps look less-than-stellar on the day of the show.

Correct carb depletion incorporates daily carb reduction followed by subsequent correlative fat depletion in a one-day stagger, up until the day of the show unto which you will "carb-up." On the carb-up days, many are known to consume a sweet potato (this is the most common, but other moderate GI carb sources are ok as well) every 2 hours with MINIMAL protein. Your caloric tallies will mimic that of days leading up to the show, however, your macronutrient tallies will vary. 2 hours before pre-judging, it is really time to INCREASE carbs.

There are mutliple tricks as well outside of diet that make your look appear "better" than it may be. Again, I am sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Thanks Dino. I have several that I don't mind showing. I don't look as good as I had hoped, but I just had trouble getting rid of the water. I had to crash diet for 6 weeks to get ready because I wasn't planning on competing this year. As a result, I lost A LOT of muscle. If I can ever get around to it, I'll post them, but everything is wacked up down here by the hurricane. I haven't even had internet for two weeks now.
