I personally use a mix of whey protein, maltodextrin and dextrose when "bulking". Otherwise, its just plain whey protein....

But, some will say waxy maize is the best. I have yet to try but once I become financially stable, i'll give it a shot...

*edit* Not sure of the name and frankly i'm too damn lazy to look it up, but it may be waximaize. check it out if you're so inclined...

what do you have against creatine?

MY initial post was body octane, now that I re-read it I realize you're looking for a post workout drink and not a preworkout.

I have to agree wit BNat on this one

Im not trying to hijack anything here :p , but I ran across an new supp that contains everything B-Nat mentioned from Universal called Torrent. Although not quite as high in the values your recommending, it does contain all the above in what seems adequate proportions.

Heres the link to the manufacturers description describing the product

Here is also a link to its Ingredients.

I had thought of purchasing this for a post-workout shake. It seems like to me it should work fairly well, what is your opinion?

It looks pretty good, but I think you'd want more protein than that. Maybe by adding an extra scoop of protein you could make it work, or by enev having an extra scoop ~20mins afterwards

I am 100% with you on that:) . Most all of us have jugs of protein laying around, so I never really even seen that as a real issue. Because like you said, we can just throw an extra scoup on top and be knocking down close to 50g's :D

Creatine while Great as a mass/strength bulider makes me gain weight (mostly water) I result i have no desire for.If i use any 2 weeks ill put on 10 pounds.
Also Torrent which was mentioned like Replenish by ds has Creatine in it.Im looking for a replenish or torrent type (combo of slow and fast acting carbs with a quality protien) whithout out Creatine.

No no no, it has protein hydrolysates. You don't want to add more to it.

What's wrong with 10 lbs of water weight? It's not bloat, it's not fat, so what's the problem?

You could (and I definitely would) still take a scoop of protein either with or 20-30mins after taking the torrent.

The whole point of using hydrolysates is that they clear the stomach much faster and are absorbed better than regular proteins. By adding regular protein powder you're potentially going to slow their action. 25g of hydrolysates have been shown through research to be enough.

25g of whey concentrate has been shown to be "enough" too. I don't buy into the expensive proteins at all. I use WPI's etc every once in a while if I can grab a good deal, but my body grows just as well with WPC, and I go with a more common 50g dose

I usually use 25-30, due to having WMS in my shakes, it screws up the absorption of wms with too many additives at higher doses.

Whey protein or a protein source and a low-GI whole food carb source...like oats.

I just don't understand this whole waxy maize fad now.......

I DID like WMS when coupled with Xtend and GEE. However, I found that while using it on a diet - i lost more weight with whole grain sources.

I may give it a go if I ever bulk again

I think/thought most dropped sources like these on a diet, drop the carbs up the protein PWO
