HI, is there anyone who has any ideas for a perimenopausal woman who has gone from a size 4 to an 8 in two yrs. I am going to try HI-Tech Lipodrene along with a good 60 min brisk walk at least every other day. I used to teach aerobics for 15 yrs and haven't in the past 4 because of foot surgery. Any suggestions would be helpful. I do know I need to get moving and that is the hardest part right now. I'm 5'3" 140, normally 117-125.

When you do that 60min brisk walk, try to do it in the morning on an empty stomach.

Supplementing with calcium wouldnt be a bad idea for you right now. Just getting a multivitamin formulated for women would be fine since most have high values of calcium along with other items for preventing osteoporosis. Just the act of walking often will severely lower your risk factor.

What is your bf%, height, and weight if you dont mind me asking?

going with slightly higher protein than carbs would be beneficial to you, but i wouldnt recommend "atkins" or other no carb diets.
-stick with whole wheat (bread, pasta, bagels), oats, sweet potatoes for carbs
-tuna and other fish will be good for your diet since you will get sme essential fatty acids from them
-chicken obviously is a major tool of the trade for health nuts
-DONT fall into the mistake most women make of eating salads for every meal. This mode of starvation can wreak havoc on a physically active woman and could easily be detrimental to fat-loss.

I recommend using Green Tea Extract to aid your fat loss. It is a strong antioxidant and it would be beneficial to use it.

POst or feel free to email me with further questions.

Good luck!

Great post Wed, also I would say too watch your total daily caloric intake. Eat small meals throughout the day, not just one large one. Ive seen many girls think that they can not eat all day, but feast at night since its only one meal. Your body is going to just store the rest as fat since it think this is the only meal its getting.

Eat good foods as Wedgylx suggested, definitely no junk food such as candy or sodas. Also find the right motivation to get back into shape. Without any motivation, you will only be able to do this for a little bit.

Eat right, exercise, and sleep good and your goals will come to you

Thank you for all your replies!!!
I am not a junk food or sweets person. I do eat small meals all day. I start the day with 1cup of raw oatmeal and applesauce. I do include alot of protien and very minimal fat. I eat my salmon and tuna canned in the original oil for the fat and stay away from mayo. I usually mix that with a very colorful salad for lunch. (the more colorful, the more vitamins) I also include a very good multivitamin for woman over 45. I'm 45 now. I take six of them a day. For dinner, I love to cook and I usually cook a good meal including a vegetable or salad along with a carb. One problem is eating dinner at 8-9 p.m. at nite. I know I need to change that. I used to do all my workouts in the a.m. and since I've started them in the early evening, the results just aren't the same.
My doctor said "the tummy fat is not going anywhere so don't even bother stressing about it" but I know different!!!

you might think about buying a type of protein powder from here to use during the day to get that protein up. Protein is a great way to give your body needed calories and not add to the belly.

Alot of companies have fat free mayo now. I have tried KRaft's brand and Cain's brand. Both taste great and have NO fat what-so-ever. That with tuna and wheat bread would be a great meal for you both flavor-wise and health-wise

For dinner, I love to cook and I usually cook a good meal including a vegetable or salad along with a carb.
Get some protein in there. Chicken stir fry would satisfy your body's needs. Chicken breast with veggies and a little soy sauce on brown rice. Very delicious.

Meals late at night arent terrible if they contain mostly protein. As a matter of fact, eating a relatively isolated protein source (egg whites, low fat cottage cheese, lean chicken or turkey breast) before bed will improve muscle definition and cut a little fat from your frame.

im a big fan of morning cardio. Unfortunately due to work schedules etc its not always a possibility.

Which supplement, from other users, would be suggested as better than the other knowing that we all react differently form different products. I've been doing alot of reading and it seems that Hot Rox and Farenhieght are somewhat the top two by users for fat loss and energy. I need the energy to get me motivated and I need to lose at least 20lbs.
I've purchased Hi-Tech Lipodrene and am feeling the first rush. But I haven't seen any posts on that supplement.

I must say that supplements have come a long way since my last stint in bodybuilding.

That's what I thought when I researched the ingredients!
Hot rox makes you warm, with hot flashes I don't think that will go over very well with the temps hitting 92 and the humidity just as high.
