i am currently bulking and am taking cytogainer, but have heard that creating your own pwo shake is better (better gains/results) than using a pre-maid one. so i am planning on taking cex, dextrose, and wpi. does anyone have any suggestions on what wpi to take, or and suggestions for these or any other ingredients that i might want to consider adding to my shake? thanks for the help

I personally use a WPI (currently doing Nectar) and mix it with Maltodextrin and Dextrose. That has worked well for me. I manipulate the amounts of Malto. and Dextrose depending on what results I am after.

Here I have to second it (WPI + mixture of CHO's), but much of an exact formula does depend on body type and current goals.
And this is post workout. I consider it just as imperative to consider pre-workout nutrition and peri-workout nutrition as well. This gets pretty complex and really depends on how close you are to goals.
While most people may say this gets pretty complex and you can do with out all of this supplementation, I take care of all micro traumas, etc... and all that is going on inside. This can get as complex as you make it.
General Rule of Thumb:
(1) Relatively Thin guy all the time - CHO:Protein tallies should be roughly 2:1.
(2) The guy I would call "Thin-Fat" - thin figure but with the shirt off looks like he is essentially round and "soft" - CHO:P = 1.5:1
(3) Typically Fat guy - CHO:P = 1:1
Some may call my aforementioned descriptions meso-, ecto-, endomorphs....NO WAY! That is a different ball game and not what I am talking about. Those terms apply to how you tend to put on muscle and fat. What I describe above is totally centered around what you look like RIGHT NOW!!! And the above is just a baseline, you can zero it in much more and there are further suggestions I can offer provided you are really interested, but it starts to get a little challenging and many people don't like to be bothered.
The problem with pre-formulated beverages is that they do NOT take into account different people have different requirements! This is the reality principle.

I've used All The Whey protein, AST VP2 protein, and isopure for my WPI
I've used creatine mono, glutamine, Dextrose, ground oats, and BCAA's in my shakes.
I'm currently going to run:
1.5 scoops WPI
1.5g SNS CE2
serving of BCAA's
then
either 3 slices wheat bread, 2tpsp margarine (40P-55C-21F)
or 1/2 cup oats (35P, 32C, 1F)

Have you had a lot of success with Fats PW?

i have heard from numerous people to stay away from fats pwo because it slows down protein digestion and absorption. stick to whey, carbs, creatine

I love to take a nice high protien/high carb drink right after, or a High Protein drink and an apple.

from what i have heard, fats slowing digestion is a total myth.
this is the first time ive incorporated them into my pwo and im not having any trouble at all

Hey, I was not asking how well (i.e.- if it is a digestion problem), but more along the lines of whether or not you felt it has made a significant impact on gains, etc???
You're bucking a new trend and I was curious if you felt it was making an IMPACT?

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I just started back on the low GI idea but i've done it in the past and have gotten great gains. Basically i hear that high GI and low GI give you around the same gains but higher GI promotes body fat gains.

i always thought for pwo you wanted high GI because that is the time your blood is flowing the most to your muscles and the simple carbs will be broken down quickly, thus being able to get into your muscles faster while the blood is still pumping and replenish the lost energy
