View Full Version : Does anyone ever just take a week OFF?
Love 2 Lift

Curious as to know what everyone does when it comes to supplements, working out and rest. I've been taking some supplements for about 2 months now and am contemplating just taking a solid week off from supplements and even lifting. In doing so, my goal is to allow my muscles/joints to rest and repair. I'm sure the body also starts to become immune to supplements. If anything, I'd just do some cardio.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks.

yes there are times I take a week or so off. Every few months - I dont lift at all for a week. I have bigger breaks with my supps though.

I would if I could. Taking the weekend off from lifting is hard enough for me.:p

EVERYONE needs to take a week off every 4-5 months or so...at least. If not more frequent.

heck yes! I take a week off of lifting and supps every 2-3 months. it's great for avoiding a plateau! the first workout back is rough, but I get great gains from it. Just try not to take a break from your diet.

Unless if I'm in the hospital, I never take off. Not too long ago I was severely sick and had no energy to stand up but I still got my ass to the gym twice that week.

8-10 weeks on, 1 week off. That's what works best for me. After 10 weeks I'm to the point of overtraining. I guess it all depends on your routine and how hard you push yourself.

Yeah that first day back is always an awesome workout even if the weights are down a little.

I took about a week off last week. I'll usually still use protein and healthy fats such as fish oil though

I've worked out continually since sophmore year in highschool and ah'm 24 now. If i don't hit the gym, i feel guilty, anxiety builds up & it's like a disease is setting in. The only exception was when i was working two full-time jobs for eight months(otherwise known as the worst eight months of my life). Could only squeeze in 1 or two workouts a week then.

Take a full week off and sit on your ass. You'll be surprised how great your workouts will be the following week.
