Drug testing for the fire department

Hey guys. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I thought I would give it a shot. I could possibly be getting on with a local Fire Department in the next few months, as I am going through the hiring process right now. My question is that I am about to start a PH cycle in 1 week and it will last 6 weeks total, plus my PCT after that. So a total of about 10 weeks. Does anyone know, or have any insight or info on the drug testing policies for fire departments? I mean I know they will obviously test for the basic narcotics that every employer would test for, but what about a PH/AAS? I know a few years back I was going through the hiring process for the city of Atlanta and i asked one of the fire fighters that was doing the physical agility test if they would test for any "supplements" and he looked at me and said no, they dont do aanything like that. But, that was a few years back so they could have changed since then, plus I am going for a different depeartment now that is a smaller suburb of Atlanta. Any info could help, and thanks guys!

you'll be fine, but when in doubt, wait to do them until after the test

So do you thik that they dont even test for that stuff?

As far as waiting goes, I wil be starting my next cycle in 7 days, but really dont expect a drug test to be given until they make an offer of employment, and there is still the background check, polygraph test, one on one interview with the Chief, physical and psychological evaluation and the ladder climb. So I think it could still be September or so before they do that, if I even get that far.

NO, I highly doubt they would test for that stuff given the expenses with the test unless you went in there huffing and puffing a storm juiced outta yo mind....You wshould be fine, but if I was in your shoes, do a quick 30 day cycle and thats it. Get it outta yo system and then be done with it toll a more convenient time.

That is what I was thinking. I know the test for a PH/AAS is very expensive and that is one of the main reasons the military doesnt really test for it. I was also thinking that I doubt the FD or the PD would test for it because of the same reasons, and also would only do so if given a REAL reason. In fact I have heard from a few different police officers that the department actually doesnt really frown on it and for the most part will kind of turn the otehr cheek to stuff like that?

I have heard the same things and it seems to be true for the most part unless its blatantly abused
