Flaxseed Oil
There are quite a few different herbs that men can take to increase their fertility. One such herb which plays a role in promoting male fertility is flaxseed oil. The ingredients within flaxseed oil help to keep the sperm healthy and may also help with regard to male impotence. Flaxseed oil is a wonderful herbal supplement to consider taking when trying to promote fertility and achieve conception.
Dinoiii I know u say Flaxseed oil is estrogenic so maybe u can clarify this.
Also I read that Vitamin C and E are good for fertility. Any of supplements or changing in my diet would help too?
Edit: nevermind the question about other supplements if u could just shed some light on the flaxseed oil.

Hey UNC,
Sure thing man...
One thing we must understand is that flax is like soy...there is big business/industry to back it; and well...we know how the soy thing turned out. ;)
But in all seriousness though, there is an IMPORTANT ROLE FOR ESTROGENS in the male reproductive tract!!!
As we all know (for those reading along), estrogen is stereotyped as the 'female' hormone, and testosterone as the 'male'. Both hormones are present in both sexes and sexual distinctions are due to differences in concentrations and differing effects on hormone receptors.
In males, estrogen is present in low concentrations in blood, and it is already known that male reproductive tissues express estrogen receptors, but their role has remained unclear.
MANY authors and one study subset in particular:
Bland, J.,(1999) About Gender: Estrogen vital for male fertility.
point out that estrogen concentration "can be extraordinarily high in semen, and as high as 250pgml-1 in rete testis fluids, which is higher than serum estradiol in the female."
The authors have demonstrated evidence of a physiological role for estrogen in male reproductive organs. The immature sperm travel in fluid, into a collecting area and onwards into a body called the epididymis. As this dilute sperm solution enters the epididymis, about 90 per cent of the fluid is reabsorbed, regulated by a particular estrogen hormone, estradiol. Disruption of this essential function causes sperm to enter the epididymis diluted, rather than concentrated, resulting in infertility. Moreover, the chemicals and nutrients that sperm need to mature are also diluted.
So, suggesting flax or anything with ANY estrogenic effect what so ever...may NOT be the greatest move (I certainly don't recommend excess in PCT or anything because you're already out of homeostatic balance in favor of the estrogen in most cases! Adding more to the system is unnecessary at this time). Now - let's say you come off a huge PCT with a potent AI and/or a SERM and/or some haphazard combination of the two ... then perhaps a minor run for a week or two with some extra flax may not be a bad idea after all, especially IF FERTILITY is the issue (I have talked about rebound fertility with cessation of AAS in the past on this forum in fact that is a very real event - perhaps subject to a time where there are already increasing levels of estrogens).
There are VERY FEW supplemental times when excess estrogen and/or phytoestrogen can be considered NECESSARY IMO. PCT is NOT one of those times, "just because" as a source of EFAs is NOT one of those times, and usually if this is "needed" then very short bursts at complete best (maybe one or two weeks).
Hope this helps a little with the flax...if you ever want aid with the other things for fertility, I have made mention of some in PCT:ACV amongst others -or- kick me an email/PM on any board that has them available [another forum has allowed me a 5000 PM storage capacity purposely].

(btw, complete aside: your reign as mod on the other site was short-lived, hit me up with email/PM as to why if you wouldn't mind)
