I do a split when I do chest. I do upper chest one day and lower chest about 3 days after. This is my workout for upper/lower chest.

Upper Chest
Incline Bench ( Wide grip )
Incline DB Flies
Incline DB Press ( Rotate on up )

Lower Chest
Decline Bench ( Wide grip )
Decline DB Flies
Decline DB Press ( Rotate on up )
Weighted Dips

I love seperating these because I have noticed that when I started to just work upper chest I filled it in nicely then I added the lower chest so I wouldnt get unproportioned. My decline bench (Max) has gone up from 190 to 265 in about 3 months. My Incline bench (Max) has gone up from 145 to 250. I like splitting these two but I am not sure if I should because it has become routine. Also any suggestions to help with my situation would be greatly appreciated.

i dont split mine up because i only work each muscle once a week. if you want to work more than once this seems to be a pretty good way to do it. when i do chest i just switch which excercise i do first between bench, incline and decline. i dont know if i could do the split you do because my whole chest is sore 2-3 days after the workout. you could try just switching up which one you do first and see how that works.

id say you're overtraining chest. Whether or not you try to isolate top and bottom, its going to stimulate the entire muscle.

i agree with wedge. If you hit your chest hard enough the first day you won't feel like doing it again until the next week.

If I am over training chest then what would you suggest I do. I like the split but what should I do to get better results? switch off each week? Or do it all in one day and blast the shit out of my chest?

3 sets flat bench
3 sets incline DB bench
3 sets decline db bench
3 sets incline flies

if you cant obliterate your chest with that routine, you're not going hard enough

your not overtraining your chest for some people more than 1 time a week a mucle works for others it doesnt keep doing as your doing. when you hit a plateau you know you overtrained and take some time off from the gym like a week.
