so i have heard that everytime you do an excerise for PL you should add 5 pounds to the bar each time i.e 2.5 on each side hows that sound to you guys??

you should add weight regularly or you will not gain much.
just make sure its enough to count and not to much.

Agree you should progress, if that is what they were getting at but you will not recover this way. You will be reaching failure weight too often. For example, you bench 200x5 this is about a 230 max. If next week you add 5# then next week 5# etc, you will not continue to gain because you will be burned out from training in too high a % of your max. You would be better off training in waves or changing exercises each 3 weeks or so. Once you fail at your rep goals you should back off or switch exercises for a few weeks.
